The opportunities to volunteer at the Minster are diverse, with roles ranging from Bell-ringers to Guides, Stewards to Flower Arrangers or Learning Volunteers. Our volunteers give varying amounts of time, starting at one or two hours a fortnight, and volunteer for many different reasons. These can include:

Informal Learning Volunteer – Heart of Yorkshire Summer Festival
We have a new and exciting volunteer opportunity to be involved in the Heart of Yorkshire Summer Festival in Dean’s Park.
This is a chance to help visitors experience the gardens and collections of York Minster in an enjoyable and engaging way. You will provide a warm welcome, supervise family activities and interact with all members of the public during their visit to the activity marquee in Dean’s Park, helping everybody discover more about the Minster’s link with all things green!
If you love to be a welcoming and friendly face to visitors of all ages and have an interest in heritage, learning or gardening this could be the volunteer role for you.
The festival will run from 7 July through to 2 September, but any contribution of time is welcome.
We are welcoming volunteer application forms for this role throughout summer. There will be informal interviews at a time to suit you.
